The Book Barn is an Indie Bound store. Indie Bound is an amalgamation of over 1200 independent bookstores across America who have banded together under the guidance of the American Booksellers Association to provide the same benefits and more than the big chain stores offer.
The Indie Bound organization compiles recommended reading lists and bestseller lists, which we provide free to our customers.
Indie Bound Best Sellers
Unlike the New York Times Bestseller List, which is based on a fiduciary relationship with a certain large bookstore chain that doesn't reflect true retail sales. It also includes sales from publishers and wholesalers, thus double- and triple-counting many books.
The Indie Bound list comes from passionate independent booksellers across the nation who report their sales weekly and really care about their customers.
The Indie Bound list is compiled and produced faster than any other list out there. For example, the data on the New York Times' list is two weeks old by the time it hits the paper... Indie Bound turns their data around in a day and have the list ready for distribution the next.
